Music has devolved into a kind of performance art that exists so far beyond the tropes of irony and sincerity that to ask “are they kidding?” is like trying to peel an onion to get to a perceived central core that, in the end, does not exist and renders all attempts to reassemble the pieces fruitless.

It’s an island of…land…where part isn’t attached...

So for our EP...
I’ve been barred from attending the recording sessions for the past two days. Yeah… That’s a fun story.
But anyway.
From what I hear, we have the drums down. Which will finally (hopefully) end the frustration and animosity within the group. Cause the recording for guitar and bass parts is very relaxing before we get into final vocal takes. Then it gets very annoying. This is...

Your steady eyes were glistening and I heard an uplifting sound in a downtown park singing your own tunes from an Irish heart. But you played with just one hand as the August sky grew dark. Because the other hand is for a lover.

You rip out all I have just to say you’ve won. Well, now you’ve won.

And if you get the nod on some cold, aimless night. From a death-do-us-partner preparing for flight. You can ride on that carpet, but you’d best keep your sight on the tender who takes your hand.
I love her, I love her, I’ve cried to the moon. The orphan inside says “you gave up too soon”. I’ve got six years of crazy and my overused tunes…and they’re love...

“The shredder is broken; it only goes backwards” “So it’s jammed?” “No, the forward-going motor is burnt out. The backward-going motor is the only one working”

So for our EP...
We’ve got everything set. So we’re recording drums tomorrow after dealing with several difficulties. We wrote the lead parts today which sound like our normal stuff, which is good, I suppose. So here are the steps we’re gonna take:
1) Tomorrow, we’re going to record all of the drum parts.
2) If there’s time, we’ll do bass tomorrow too. If not, we’ll do...
Coming and going. Asleep and awake. In bed at the hospital.

Listening to the first track of our EP
Me: That was a pretty weak performance on vocals
Mike N (our bassist): Well...you were high when we recorded it...

I Am Yours
However distant you may be There blows no wind, but brings your scent to me There sings no bird, but calls your name to me Each memory that has left its trace with me Lingers forever as a part of me I am yours

So for our EP...
We did the rhythm tracks today. We’re having severe difficulties doing drums. But we need to get them done tomorrow. Then, we can do bass and lead after Christmas and after that, we can redo the rhythms and do vocals on another day.
All in all, we’ve got 5 songs that pretty much own. I’m the main writer for three and our bassist Mike is the main writer for two, though we all...

Picked up the guitar for the first time in a few days. The lack of heat in my room has done it damage…
But anyway, we’re going to hopefully lay down some rough tracks on Thursday to get ready for final takes. I’ll definitely post them on here as I always do once I get them mastered. Still working on lyrics…

A figure waits in the shadows Someone drowned in the lake The march of Georgian feet down the highway And razorblades in the cake These dogs will tear your flesh You’d best give them a bone I see you there in a sea of faces I see you there alone
